CHATTANOOGA. Townsend Atelier has a few openings for their popular ‘Bad to the Bone’ anatomy drawing workshop led by Roberto Osti. The Atelier workshop attracts participants from across the region.

“Roberto is a master in his field and everyone who takes his anatomy workshops comes away with practical ways to improve their figurative art, regardless of the medium in which they work.” —Peggy Townsend, co-founder of Townsend Atelier.

The three-day workshop will be held May 26-28 at Townsend Atelier in The Arts Building at 301 East 11th Street. The cost is $425 and all levels of skill are welcome. Model fees for the painting from life sessions are included in the workshop fee. To register go to TownsendAtelier.com

Roberto Osti’s 2016 book, “Basic Human Anatomy: An Essential Visual Guide for Artists” is available for purchase at Townsend Atelier’s onsite retail shop or you can order online at townsendatelier.com

The workshop is developed to provide artists with a fundamental understanding of the human form through exploring the skeleton and muscles. Each day will begin with a lecture and demo that will cover the fundamentals of structural anatomy. The remainder of each day include hands-on practice of drawing the human figure from a live model.
