Need more reasons to shop? Local home fragrance company Paddywax, is offering visitors an interactive candle-pouring experience at their first brick-and-mortar location, The Candle Bar, when it opens today, December 20, at 2934 Sidco Drive. And to celebrate the grand opening on December 20, The Candle Bar is hosting three days of holiday events leading up to Christmas Eve.

The Candle Bar provides an approachable DIY candle-pouring experience meant to connect new and longstanding Paddywax customers with a craft Paddywax has invested more than 20 years in. Visitors go through a 12-step candle-pouring process, choosing from 10 different vessels and 40, regularly-rotating soy wax fragrance blends, in addition to a choice of labels to further personalize the experience. The cost for a la carte candle making is $25-$35, and reserved workshops are $55. Workshops offer an intimate experience to gather with friends, BYOB and pour two custom candles.

Whitney Hall, director of retail at The Candle Bar, describes her vision for creating an approachable, DIY experience for people to share with their family and friends over and over again. “This motivated us to get into this type of retail and we are hopeful that this will allow us to connect more deeply with our loyal customer base,” Hall says.

The Candle Bar also carries products from Paddywax and their sister companies, DesignWorks Ink, a line of decorative stationery, and Olivina Men, natural grooming essentials.

“In an effort to engage with our city and work directly with our customers, we have created a space that celebrates the art of process and collaboration,” says sally Woodyard, creative director and brand manager of Paddywax. “The Candle Bar is something we’ve dreamed up for a long time now, and we are beyond thrilled to share the beauty of candle making with our community.”
