Todd Perkins’ Upcycled Guitars Coming to Tennessee Festival Scene in April

FRANKLIN. Todd Perkins spent his early career helping homeowners reimagine and remodel their homes. About a decade ago he decided to focus on his interior life as an artist, applying many of those same skills and attention to detail.

Todd creates high-end guitars with finishes made from upcycled materials of all sorts.

In his Denver-based studio, Todd reaches for everyday objects he may alter or detach from their original purpose to create his scupltures. Scrabble letters, metal auto license plates, memorabilia, and other found objects create themes for each guitar.

Todd Perkins craftsmanship is stunning, but his subject offers people an instant connection.

You can meet Todd this month and see his guitars at two upcoming juried shows in Tennessee, at 4 Bridges Arts Festival in Chattanooga and Main Street Festival in Franklin.
