During a one-night special event Lily Hansen, author of Word of Mouth: Nashville Conversations, will interview Lawrence Azerrad, author of Supersonic: The Design and Lifestyle of the Concorde as part of Nashville Design Week.

Lawrence Azerrad is a Grammy award-winning, Los Angeles–based graphic designer and creative director. Azerrad founded LADdesign, a graphic design studio specializing in music, culture and arts. Lily Hansen is a Nashville-based author, speak and professional interviewer.

“After Lawrence kindly invited me to an event that he was hosting for AIGA in Nashville I became smitten with his wit, charm, intellect, emotional intelligence, and passion for design, Hansen says. “I was thrilled when he asked if I would be interested in facilitating a live interview around his first book, Supersonic, which I eagerly absorbed over the course of an afternoon.”

During the conversation the authors will focus on the Concorde as a symbol of its own era as well as one for today, as well as the book’s emphasis on hope and progress.

“Lawrence and I are both dreamers who also believe in doing which is why I am proud and honored to interview him on Tuesday evening in front of the wonderful design community of Nashville,” Hansen says.

The event is Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Rail Yard Studios, 57 Willow Street. Guests are encouraged to arrive at 6:30 p.m. with the conversation to being at 7 p.m. The evening will be moderated by Hollie Deese, publisher of Nashville Interiors magazine.

After the show guests can mingle with the authors and purchase signed copies of Azerrad’s Supersonic: The Design and Lifestyle of the Concorde and Hansen’s second book, Word of Mouth: More Conversations. Reservations available here.
